Graduation Ceremony, Playoff Schedule, Travel Opportunities & More

Graduation Ceremony
Thanks to all those who attended the Graduation ceremony on Friday.  I can't remember a better ceremony over the last five years.  A fitting sendoff to an exceptional class.

Travel Opportunities
By Jeannie Erickson
We will be hosting an informational and enrollment meeting for our still open 2017 travel opportunities on Monday, June 13th, 2016 at 6:30 PM in the HS library. At this meeting we will have an opportunity to provide an overview of the available trips and to answer your questions. A $100 program discount will be offered to all families in attendance.

Here is a short summary of the trips being featured at this event:

Peru in February of 2017. Peru’s culture and countryside offer no shortage of diversity. Take a journey into the southern region of Peru, where you’ll explore archeological treasures like Ollantaytambo and Machu Picchu. Then, venture south to one of the highest lakes in the world, Lake Titicaca, where you’ll be in the indigenous cultures of villages surrounding the scenic lake. Working together with locals, you’ll participate in meaningful service projects focused on eco-tourism, community development and cultural immersion.

Or

Italy in June of 2017. Learn how the future of food, physics and chemistry intersect as you discover emerging trends in food sustainability and production. Learn how western food trends are combining with European culinary traditions to make for a whole new business landscape. Join other teachers and students from across North America and Europe in Turin, Italy, for a two-day leadership conference. Hear from world-renowned speakers, attend expert-led workshops and gain valuable insight into how food connects plates, people, politics and culture.

If you have any questions prior to this meeting or if you are interested and can not make this date, please contact Jeannie Erickson at jerickson@gdrsd.org
