Principal's Notes

Emergency Protocol  Training
Local law enforcement officers from Concord, Pepperell, Watertown, Waltham, Groton and Dunstable will be on hand this coming Wednesday to practice emergency procedures with the GDRHS staff..   Please do not be alarmed if you notice a heavy police presence Wednesday afternoon as it is simply part of our emergency protocol and procedure training.  

Guidance Update
Representatives from the Massachusetts Educational Foundation Authority will be at Groton-Dunstable Regional High School on October 22nd at 6:30pm.  MEFA’s mission is to increase access and college affordability across the Commonwealth through low-cost financing alternatives, college savings programs and educational financing expertise on planning, saving and paying for higher education. Please join us in the BBX theater.  There is no charge for this event.  

Progress Reports
Hard to believe but we are nearing the midway point of Quarter 1.  Progress reports will be available in iStudent and iParent on Friday, October 4th starting at 3pm.  If you cannot access the progress report online please send an email to Mary Cain requesting one be mailed.  As noted during Open House, neither progress reports nor report cards will be mailed home, with this in mind we encourage all parents to register for iParent.  

Women in Engineering
The UMass Amherst College of Engineering, in cooperation with Computer Science and the Commonwealth Alliance for Information Technology Education, is please to invite female students to the Women in Engineering and Computing Career Day on Monday, October 28th.  We have encouraged students to see Ms. Kaplan for additional information.  Feel free to email her if you would like more details.  akaplan@gdrsd.org

Drivers Education Classes 
Driver's Education classes begin October 7th.  Sign-up sheets are available in the main office.  

Open Mic Night
Open Mic Night will be held from 6 to 9pm on Friday, October 4th in the BBX Theater.  Admission prices are $5 for students and $7 for adults.  

Open House 
A quick thank you for all that attended Open House.  We had tremendous parental turnout, and it provides further evidence of a community that values education.  Thanks again.
